Every Morgue Studio piece is handcrafted in Miami, Florida using a combination of platinum silicone, thermoplastics, leather harness systems, pigments, weathering techniques, and hand-finished detailing. Due to the handmade nature of the work, slight variations, imperfections, and differences in finish are intentional and part of the individuality of each artifact.
Most standard masks are designed to fit a wide range of head sizes comfortably using adjustable harness systems or elastic strapping. If you require custom sizing or have specific fitment concerns, please contact Morgue Studio directly before ordering.
Standard made-to-order mask builds typically require around 15 business days to complete before shipment. More complex pieces, limited editions, and commission work may require additional production time.
Progress photos are typically reserved for custom commissions or available upon request through the client portal or Instagram messaging system.
No. Apparel and merchandise are produced and shipped separately through external production partners and may follow different production and shipping timelines than handcrafted masks and wearable pieces.
SILICONE MASKS & MATERIALS
Most masks are created using high-quality platinum silicone designed for flexibility, durability, realistic texture, and skin-like movement. Additional materials may include thermoplastics, leather, elastic harness systems, metal hardware, weathering powders, and specialty pigments and coatings.
Morgue Studio primarily uses Dragon Skin platinum silicone, an industry-standard professional material widely respected in the special effects and prosthetics world for its durability, flexibility, tear resistance, realistic skin-like movement, and long-term stability.
Silicone behaves more like real skin than traditional latex. It moves naturally, stretches comfortably, and captures fine texture and detail with a much more lifelike appearance and feel.
Yes. Silicone masks can be customized using makeup, pigments, powders, weathering techniques, and cosmetic products. Many collectors personalize their pieces with eyeshadow, grease paints, powder pigments, and weathering effects.
Some powder weathering and distressed finishes are intentionally designed to wear naturally with handling and use over time. This aging process is part of the aesthetic and can be refreshed using makeup powders or additional weathering products.
Silicone masks are highly durable when handled properly. Avoid sharp objects, excessive stretching, prolonged direct sunlight, and improper storage conditions.
Yes. Morgue Studio masks are designed as long-term wearable artifacts and collector pieces. Unlike traditional latex masks, platinum silicone does not dry rot, crack, or deteriorate in the same way over time when properly cared for.
THERMOPLASTIC SHELLS & HARDWARE
Many removable shell systems and rigid components are made using durable thermoplastic materials designed for lightweight strength and modular functionality.
Yes. Thermoplastic shell pieces are highly durable for regular wear, photography, performance, and display use. Keep away from excessive heat or high-temperature environments.
Adjustable leather harness systems use heavy-duty holster hardware and can be resized manually. A standard Phillips head screwdriver is required for adjustments.

MODULAR SYSTEMS
Many Morgue Studio designs feature removable or interchangeable shell systems attached using snaps, straps, or modular hardware. Compatibility may vary depending on the mask platform and version.
In many cases, yes. Compatible shell expansions and future modular pieces may become available separately depending on the mask system and release.
Yes. Modular systems are intentionally designed for user interaction. Shells, jaw pieces, and accessories can typically be removed or swapped manually without specialized tools.
COMMISSIONS
Yes. Morgue Studio accepts a limited number of custom projects and private commissions throughout the year, including custom mask variants, modular shell systems, wearable performance pieces, film/photo props, and original concept builds.
Clients begin by submitting a commission request through the Custom Commissions page. Approved projects continue through the Morgue Studio client messaging system for project discussion, updates, invoicing, and final approval.
Yes. Custom projects require a non-refundable deposit before production begins. Remaining balances are invoiced upon project completion prior to shipment.
Minor adjustments may be possible depending on the stage of production. Significant redesigns or late-stage changes may require additional costs or timeline adjustments.
SHIPPING & RETURNS
Due to the handmade and made-to-order nature of Morgue Studio products, most mask sales are considered final. If there is an issue with your order, please contact Morgue Studio directly.
If your order arrives damaged or is lost in transit, contact Morgue Studio as soon as possible so a resolution can be investigated with the shipping carrier.
