MORTIS MK2 - SILENCED VER.
A restrained variation of the Dahlia MK2 platform built around containment, structural distortion, and preserved anatomy.
The Dahlia MK2 — Silenced Ver. pairs the layered removable shell construction of the MK2 series with a lower jaw assembly suspended beneath the mask using exposed steel bar supports. The result feels like a medical restraint or preserved specimen held together through crude reconstruction.
Cast in thick Dragon Skin silicone and hand-weathered using layered black cosmetic detailing, each piece develops subtle tonal variation across the surface rather than a flat painted finish. The removable outer shell sits over the silicone base and is secured independently through its own elastic harness system, creating a layered skull-like structure with visible separation between the shell and underlying form.
The lower jaw section is connected to the upper shell through exposed steel support bars, creating a rigid suspended mouth structure that slightly restricts mouth movement during wear. Because of this construction, the
Dahlia MK2 — Chrysalis Ver. is intended more for collectors, photography, film work, and visual performance rather than vocal performance or singing use.
Each piece includes:
- Thick Dragon Skin silicone cast
- Hand-weathered blackened finish
- Removable hard shell mask assembly
- Suspended lower jaw structure
- Exposed steel jaw support bars
- Independent elastic shell harness
- Heavy-duty elastic rear strap system
- Steel Chicago screw and washer hardware
The layered construction creates a skeletal silhouette while maintaining the soft organic movement and fit of silicone beneath the outer shell structure.
No two pieces will weather exactly the same.
Designed as a wearable artifact for collectors drawn toward biological horror, restrained medical aesthetics, reconstructed anatomy, and experimental mask design.
