Pumpkin Splice is offered in three forms: single blanks, a two-piece kit with both blanks trimmed, or a fully finished wearable mask.

THE PIECE

Pumpkin Splice begins with a thick-cast, glowing silicone base mask. The base is built in multiple layers, each individually pigmented with metallic powders to create shifting tones of orange, green, and yellow throughout the silicone.

The outer shell is cast from thick resin in multiple semi-translucent, pigmented layers. The resulting depth and variation are intended to mimic a pumpkin in the process of ripening—from green and yellow undertones into warmer, deeper orange.

The rear assembly is constructed from thick vegetable-tanned leather, custom cut and wet-formed to the shape of the mask. The pumpkin-inspired backplate features a slightly movable stem, constructed using the same leather-working process. Each piece is then dyed, aged, waxed, and burnished by hand.

Throughout the construction, the details carry the pumpkin theme further. The leather washers on the silicone base represent seeds, while the leather lacing running through the piece represents vines.

The teeth are resin and individually hand-applied to every finished mask. Their placement will therefore vary slightly from piece to piece.

NO TWO PUMPKINS ARE EXACTLY ALIKE

Because Pumpkin Splice is built by hand using multiple translucent colors and layers, every piece will have its own color variation and pattern.

Some will emerge lighter and greener, resembling an earlier stage of ripening. Others will develop deeper, darker orange tones like a more mature pumpkin.

The Pumpkin Splice pictured here represents the standard colorway: a pumpkin beginning to ripen.

Your preferred level of ripeness can be specified in the order notes—from greener and less mature to darker and more fully ripened. While the general direction can be requested, the final coloration will always retain the natural variation created by the hand-casting process.

The “’26” is carved into the mask to mark this year’s Halloween release. If you prefer the mask without it, simply request no ’26 in your order notes.
